<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor for a photoelectric conversion material exhibiting high efficiency of photoelectric conversion and superior stability, to provide a photoelectric conversion element, and to provide a solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor for the photoelectric conversion material contains a monomethine compound represented by general formula (1).
