<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an output voltage to inverter loads while coping with harmonics, by overcoming the problem in a conventional power conversion apparatus for air conditioners, which cannot obtain an optional output that is a rectified, smoothed voltage or below as the output voltage while coping with the harmonics. <P>SOLUTION: A power conversion apparatus includes a capacitor 4 connected to the DC output side of a rectifying circuit 2, a switching element 5 connected to the load side of the capacitor 4, a smoothing circuit 6 connected to the load side of the switching element 5, and a control means of controlling on/off of the switching element 5 according to a target output voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
