<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical film suitably used as a retardation film in a large-sized liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing an optical film, a composition containing cellulose nano fibers which have a modified group expressed by general formula (1): -(L)<SB>n</SB>-R<SP>1</SP>and have an average fiber length of 2.0 to 100 μm, and a thermoplastic resin is formed into a film and is stretched in at least one direction. In the formula, L represents a linking group, and n represents an integer 0 or 1, and R<SP>1</SP>represents a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group and they may have a substituent furthermore. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
