<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing technique for presenting various kinds of information such as power consumption information with minimized power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A communication part 104 communicates in one of a communication mode in which it behaviors as a reader/writer and a communication mode in which it behaves as a passive tag, and detects a state of a USB host 71. An antenna part 100 receives radio wave or carrier from the other NFD device or transmits radio wave or carrier to the other NFD device. A control part 102 appropriately switches, according to the state of the USB host 71 detected by the communication part 104, the communication mode of an NFD device ND1 to a passive tag mode or a reader/writer mode, determines disclosure information to be presented, and transmits the determined disclosure information to the other NFD device through the communication part 104.
