PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically associate master-slave relationship between a lower node and an upper node. SOLUTION: At the startup, an upper node address inquiry message S1 including a logical address 01-01 and a communication address #2 of the own node is transmitted to the uppermost node 1 from a lower node 3. The uppermost node 1 writes the pair of logical address 01-01 and communication address #2 in the message S1 in a table TB1, identifies an upper logical address 01 to which the logical address 01-01 belongs from the logical address 01-01 at the same time, acquires a communication address #1 corresponding to the logical address 01 as a communication address of the upper node from the table TB1, and sends back an upper node address inquiry response message S2 including the communication address #1 of the upper node to the lower node 3. The lower node 3 receives the message S2 to store the communication address #1 in the message S2, sends the communication address #2 of the own node to the upper node 3, and establishes the master-slave relationship between the upper node 3 and itself.
