PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air compressor which efficiently uses a plurality of air compressors connected to each other in a simple structure. SOLUTION: A pair of air tanks 131 (131a, 131b) of the air compressor 100 and a pair of air tanks 231 (231a, 231b) of the air compressor 200 are communicated to each other through an air hose 300. The air compressors 100, 200 restart operation of electric motors 120, 220 when it is determined that a rate of time change in pressure in the air tanks 131, 231 calculated from the detection signals of the pressure sensors 133, 233 during shutdown is positive, that is, pressure is increased. Therefore, in regard to the air compressors 100, 200, when the operation of the one air compressor is restarted under firstly detecting restart pressure, the operation of the other air compressor is restarted by detecting a pressure rise in the air tank.
