PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain saw in which tension of a saw chain is adjusted by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The chain saw includes: a chain saw body 10; a guide bar 20 that is freely attachable to and detachable from the chain saw body 10; a slide member 30 that is freely movably inserted in the longitudinal direction relative to a fitting channel 12b formed in the chain saw body 10 and that is attached to the guide bar 20; a saw chain wrapped around the guide bar 20; a brake lever 50 that is mounted in a freely tiltable manner on the chain saw body 10 and that is connected to a brake mechanism; and a chain stretching mechanism 60 for adjusting tension of the saw chain. The chain stretching mechanism 60 has a cable 61 (linear member) which is mounted in one end on the brake lever 50 and in the other end on the slide member 30. When the brake lever 50 is tilted backward, the slide member 30 is pulled forward by the cable 61, and the guide bar 20 is moved forward linked with the slide member 30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
