PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base plate for a chair which is capable of bending a part to which the body pressure of a seated person is to be applied in a preferable form and obtaining a comfortable sitting feeling over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The base plate for the chair is used for a seat or a backrest. On the part to which the body pressure of a seated person is to be applied on the base plate 13 formed from an elastically deformable synthetic resin, a plurality of flexible easy-to-deform portions 18 which are directed in a direction crossing right and left directions and convexedly curved upward and downward from the base plate 13 are provided side by side in the right and left directions so as to be parallel to each other.
