PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the blank layout of a rim of a brake shoe with good yield to reduce material cost and thereby to reduce manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: In the drum brake device, a first slide part 41 in slide-contact with a first ledge part 47 on a backing plate 32 is projected from the rim 35 of the brake shoe 31. The first slide part 41 is formed in a shape of a projecting piece in parallel with the first ledge part 47, by cutting and raising a cut-and-raised part 46 set within the width of the rim 35.
