PURPOSE:To provide an anti-suntan cosmetic having excellent antisuntan effect, high safety and good applicability and giving beautifully tanned skin, by using piroxicam as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective anti-suntan cosmetic contains 0.5-7wt% piroxicam (3,4-dihydro-2-methyl-4-oxo-N-2-pyridyl-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-3-carboxa mide 1,1- dioxide). Since piroxicam is insoluble in water, it is added to the above cosmetic by dissolving in or diluting with ethanol, castor oil, etc. The cosmetic can be used in the form of lotion, oil, cream, etc., and, if necessary, proper amounts of ultraviolet absorber and ultraviolet scattering agent are added to the cosmetic. |
