The tool i.e. reversible indexed cutting plate, has a machined structure die including cutting teeth for forming a groove-type recess in a workpiece surface, where the cutting teeth include a rectangular profile. Deforming dies (2) include a deforming element that is in engagement with an upper surface of a workpiece and moves in a drive direction. A section (3) of the deforming dies movably protrudes along a direction of the workpiece, where the deforming dies and the machined structure die are connected with each other.
