Device for removing a first body from an opening of a second body comprises a tool (13) for screwing into the first body and mechanically coupled with a threaded spindle (4) having an outer thread (5) which interacts with an inner thread (16) arranged in a sleeve (2) surrounding the threaded spindle. A rotary and translational movement is produced when a torque is introduced into the threaded spindle. A coupling interacting only in a rotary direction of the spindle is arranged between the tool and the spindle so that the tool is moved in a rotary and translational manner when the spindle is rotated in a first rotary direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for removing a first body from an opening of a second body using the above device. Preferred Features: The tool is a drill. The first body is a dowel. The second body is a wall.
