<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition control device or the like for highly efficiently controlling a composition. <P>SOLUTION: This composition control device obtains, as a preliminary position, a position of the subject obtained in an image frame when an image angle changed according to a determined zoom magnification is returned to the state before change from the contents of the image in which the determined composition has been obtained. Then, the composition control device performs control for a movable mechanism section so that the position of the subject in the image frame corresponds to the obtained preliminary position, and after that, executes zoom control based on the determined zoom magnification.
