<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device or a display capable of preventing a film-like optical member from running on a region for placing a display panel while reducing the thickness dimension thereof. <P>SOLUTION: This light source device has a light source 11, a film-like optical member 13, an emission plane 1211a formed into an almost flat surface, a light guide member 12a in which an optical member supporting plane 1212a inclining at a prescribed angle to the emission plane 1211a on at least a part of the periphery of the emission plane 1211a, and a frame 14a on which an optical member supporting plane 145 facing the optical member supporting plane 1212a formed in the light guide member 12a with a prescribed distance kept between.
