PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device wherein the degradation of display due to exfoliation of an electrophoretic layer can be prevented, a method of manufacturing the same, and an electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device 1 includes an electrophoretic sheet 3, having an electrophoretic layer 31 and an adhesive layer 33; an element substrate 2 to which the electrophoretic sheet 3 is stuck by an adhesive; a surface protecting substrate 4, disposed on a side opposite to the element substrate 2 of the electrophoretic sheet 3; and a sealant 6 which is disposed between the element substrate 2 and the surface protecting substrate 4 so as to surround the periphery of the electrophoretic layer 31 and seal up the electrophoretic sheet 3 between the substrates 2 and 4. A pixel electrode 25A, which makes the thickness of the adhesive layer 33 in the vicinity of the sealant 6 smaller than that in the other portions, is provided between the element 2 and the electrophoretic sheet 3.
