PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal constituted of a lower housing and an upper housing, capable of freely being moved among a top-surface closed state of the lower housing, a rear-side top surface exposed state, and a center-top surface exposed state and performing quick operations. SOLUTION: The portable terminal 1 configured, in such a manner that an upper housing 4 is slidable relative to a lower housing 2, wherein pivoting center points 5a, 6a of two pivoting plates 5, 6 are pivotably supported by the upper housing 4; the two pivoting plates 5, 6 are arranged side by side along the lower surface of the upper housing 4; base points 5c, 6c which are located on circular paths having the same radius measured from the pivoting center points 5a, 6a on the pivoting plates 5, 6 are provided on the two respective pivoting plates 5, 6; and the two base points 5c, 6c are rotatably supported on the lower housing 2, in such a manner that the two base points 5c, 6c and the two pivoting center points 5a, 6a form the four corners of a parallelogram and that both the two base points 5c, 6c are located alongside the edge 2d of a side of the lower housing 2.
