PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terahertz wave device which condenses an incident terahertz wave into a waveguide structure and which turns an exiting terahertz wave from the waveguide structure to have a narrow radiation angle. SOLUTION: The terahertz wave device includes: a teflon made fiber 110 for propagating a terahertz wave; and a planar optical element 120 which is formed in a planar shape, with the surface in contact with at least one of the incident face and the exiting face of the teflon (R) made fiber 110. The planar optical element 120 has a projected part 122a formed on the reverse face. and the width of the projected part 122a is equal to or less than the wavelength of the terahertz wave.
