PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a token selector with an improved capability of preventing tokens from being taken in. SOLUTION: Token sensors 58a and 58b for counting tokens and a sensor 57 for detecting presence of a passing object on the upstream of the token sensors 58a and 58b are disposed in a token passage 50f of the token selector 50. For example, if the counting position of a loaded token is at an off-position of the token sensor 58b, detection signals from the three sensors 57, 58a and 58b are monitored in a slot machine. If at least one token is present in a range from an on-position of the sensor 57 to an off-position of the token sensor 58b, the start of rotation of reels is not permitted, even if a start lever is operated, till no token is present in the range.
