PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organopolysiloxane maintaining stable the dispersion state of a cosmetic containing a silicone oil, a high-polarity component and a powder, and providing a cosmetic excellent in skin affinity; and to provide a cosmetic containing the organopolysiloxane. SOLUTION: This organopolysiloxane is represented by formula (1) (where R<SP>1</SP>s are independently a group selected from a 1-30C aralkyl group, a 1-30C fluorinated alkyl group, a 6-30C aryl group, and a 6-30C aralkyl group; and R<SP>2</SP>is a group containing a carboxyl group derived from a succinyl group and an ester group).
