<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that has a simple structure and ensures stable fixing process for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In operation of the fixing device, a second infrared heater 60 is periodically turned on and off to generate an uneven periodical temperature difference on a fixing film 21. During switching of the second infrared heater 60, a temperature change on the fixing film 21 is detected by a second temperature sensor 41, and a cycle of the temperature change obtained based on the detected results and an on-off cycle of the second infrared heater 60 are compared. If the on-off cycle of the second infrared heater 60 matches the cycle of the temperature change of the fixing film 21 detected by the second temperature sensor 41, the fixing film 21 as a fixing member can be determined to be in a predetermined rotating state. On the contrary, if the fixing film 21 slips, a difference occurs between the on-off cycle of the second infrared heater 60 and the cycle of the temperature change of the fixing film 21 detected by the second temperature sensor 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
