PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating device which can reduce the size of the device and can efficiently heat a material to be heated. SOLUTION: The heating device 1 for bringing the material to be heated in contact with high pressure superheated steam to heat the material includes a supply portion 2 for supplying the material to be heated, a stirring tank 4 into which the high pressure superheated steam is supplied and which has a stirring means 3 for stirring the material to be heated, and a transfer means 5 which is connected to the supply portion 2 and the stirring tank 4, and is blocked from the stirring tank 4 when communicated with the supply portion 2, and blocked from the supply portion 2 when communicated with the stirring tank 4.
