PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head gimbal assembly which easily performs positioning of a light guiding part and a slider on a tongue part and performs a stable recording and reproducing operation, and to provide an information recording and reproducing apparatus including the head gimbal assembly. SOLUTION: The head gimbal assembly which records information on a recording medium using a near-field light includes: a suspension that extends along a surface of the recording medium to be deflectable in a thickness direction; a slider which is provided at a tip end side of the suspension to face the surface of the recording medium and generates the near-field light using a light flux; a light guiding part which introduces a light flux to the slider; a support part which is provided at the tip end side of the suspension to support the slider and the light guiding part to be more deflectable in the thickness direction than the suspension; and a three-dimensional structure part which is provided to the support part and is used for positioning the support-facing portion on a desired portion of the support part wherein the support-facing portion includes at least either the tip end part of the light guiding part or the slider.
