PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compatibly achieve both of improvement of cooling capacity of an air conditioner and suppression of deterioration of fuel economy during a fuel cut period in vehicle deceleration. SOLUTION: A vehicle includes an air conditioner compressor 28 driven by rotation of an engine 10, and a continuously variable transmission 17 continuously changing change gear ratio between an output shaft 15 of the engine 10 and an axle 22 as an output shaft of the vehicle. An engine ECU 40 executing various controls relating to operation of the engine 10 or the like detects demand load to an air conditioner and controls the change gear ratio to a side increasing rotation speed of the engine 10 higher as the detected demand load is higher during a stop period of fuel supply in vehicle deceleration.
