PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation method of a heteropoly acid which effects high heteropoly acid recovery and which is capable of being applied to various reaction systems by separating the heteropoly acid from a heteropoly acid-containing solution at a low energy cost with high efficiency. SOLUTION: The separation method of a heteropoly acid is a method to separate the heteropoly acid from the heteropoly acid-containing solution. It comprises the step of separating the heteropoly acid with a molecular sieve using an organic polymer membrane wherein the transmission rate of pure water at 25°C and under 0.1 MPa with the organic polymer membrane is 1 g/min/m2or more.
