PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage reduction treatment apparatus which is inexpensive in apparatus cost and also in running cost, has no failure of reduction (decomposition by microorganisms), does not give a dirty feeling, and does not limit its installation place. SOLUTION: The garbage reduction treatment apparatus is composed of: a treatment vessel 1 whose upper face is opened; a garbage treatment bag 2 made of plastics and directly charged with garbage; an outside bag 3 made of plastics, having flexibility, having no water permeability and composing a double bag together with the garbage treatment bag; a garbage treatment material 4 comprising microorganisms; and a cover body 5 in which a network vent opening has been formed. In the apparatus, the garbage treatment bag and the outside bag are discharged together from the treatment vessel, and they are rubbed or shaken from the outside, thus the stirring of the garbage treatment material and the garbage can be performed.
