<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled hydrogen purifier wherein a complicated valve switching device is dispensed with when hydrogen is supplied or discharged by alternately passing a hermetic vessel through a low-temp. heating medium chamber communicating with a raw hydrogen supply port and a high-temp. heating medium chamber communicating with a purified hydrogen outlet. CONSTITUTION:As a rotary shaft 2 is rotated, each hermetic vessel 6 of a rotor 1 is turned in the direction as shown by the arrows in the figure from position (1) (in the low-temp. heating medium chamber 15) to position (2) (between the chamber 15 and the high-temp. heating medium chamber 14), position (3) (in the chamber 14), and position (4) (between the chamber 14 and the chamber 15). When one of the vessels 6 is positioned at position (1), crude gaseous hydrogen is supplied to the vessel 6 at position (1) in the chamber 15 since a hydrogen duct 7 communicates with a raw hydrogen supply port 9, and H2 is occluded in a metallic hydride. Then when the vessel 6 comes to position (2), the temp. of the metallic hydride is elevated, the temp. in the vessel 6 is raised, and the impurities are discharged 10. Furthermore, when the vessel 6 comes to position (3), high-purity hydrogen is liberated from the metallic hydride and discharged from a purified hydrogen outlet 11. Then the vessel 6 is turned in the preceding manner, and purified H2 can be recovered by an extremely simple operation.</p> |
