Disclosed is a solar cell which is applicable to a wide wavelength range and has a high photoelectric conversion efficiency. A method for manufacturing such solar cell is also disclosed. The photoelectric conversion device is provided with: a first conductive layer composed of a first conductivity type material; a second conductive layer, which is formed on the first conductive layer and is composed of a second conductivity type material; and a photosensitizing layer formed between the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. The charge carriers generated by means of photoelectric conversion in the photosensitizing layer can freely move to the first conductive layer and/or the second conductive layer. |
