PROCESS FOR THE PURIFICATION OF WATER FROM URANIUM (VI)

The invention relates to the water treatment of industrial and domestic waste water, particularly to the treatment using modified sorbent, and can be used for the purification of surface natural and waste uranium-containing water. The task of the invention is the increasing of purification degree for aqueous medium from all forms of uranium (VI), selectability of sorbent in relation to uranium (IV) and simplification and cheapening of the technology for the preparation of the sorbent. The proposed process for the purification of uranium-containing water consists in water treatment by the modified sorbent – montmorillonite, modified by polyethylenimine in quantity of 0.30- PEI/g of montmorillonite at pH of aqueous medium of 4÷8. The realization of claimed process provides the high degree of purification of natural and waste highly mineralized water from all forms of uranium (VI) at the level of 79÷99.95 %.
