PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple roof structure which can be assembled without using a number of roof material fixing members like bolts, nuts or screws. SOLUTION: In the simple roof structure, a front-side cover material includes a cover part fitted to a front face of a purlin and an extension part extending from the upper part of the cover part to the rear side, and a front end of a roof material is inserted and held between the extension part and the upper face of the purlin. Consequently, there is no need to directly screw and fix the roof material with a number of bolts, nuts, screws, etc., and the time for assembling the simple roof structure is considerably reduced. Further, since there is no need to drill bolt holes or screw holes in the roof material, corrosion of the roof material, which is apt to corrode from the end of a hole, is prevented.
