PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum alloy foil for a lithium ion secondary battery which is uniformly deformed upon press forming in an active substance application stage, and whose peeling from the active substance can be prevented without causing local deformation. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy foil for a lithium ion secondary battery contains, by mass, 0.01 to 0.60% Si, 0.2 to 1.0% Fe, 0.05 to 0.50% Cu and 0.5 to 1.5% Mn, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, and has a tensile strength of≥240 MPa and an n value of≥0.1.
