PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately calculate the remaining number of receipts to be issued by a recording device which uses rolled paper for issuing the receipts. SOLUTION: A host computer 5 calculates a prediction value for the length of the receipts to be issued by a receipt issuing printer 1 in accordance with the length of the receipts issued in the past, and calculates the remaining number of the receipts to be issued in accordance with the calculated prediction value and the remaining amount of the rolled paper.
