An immobilizer has an initiation unit. On moving over the magnetic zone, magnetic forces operate a primary initiation unit which initiates a mechanical procedure which then in the end activates the immobilizer. At that the initiation unit has means compensating influence of disturbance forces which prevent essential movement of the initiation unit. The initiation unit has means operating the initiation unit in initiation position due to forces of magnetic origin. The initiation unit has a lever with two lever arms, which is designed such that it can rotate about a rotation point. One lever arm is fitted with a weight. A permanent magnet is located at the end of the single-arm lever. The lever is mounted such that it can rotate about a rotation point. Between double-arm lever and single-arm lever such an interaction is present that forces affecting the levers are mutually compensated and do not cause essential movement of the initiation unit, and force affecting the lever with permanent magnet only operates transfer of the initiation unit in initiation position.
