The method involves displaying an operatable graphical object (6) on a display area (2) of a display device (1) i.e. touchscreen, and detecting operation of the graphical object such that a list with widget-representatives is displayed on the display area. One of the widget-representatives of the list is selected such that the selected widget-representative is removed from the list. A widget-object assigned to the widget-representatives is displayed on the display area. The graphical object is represented as a virtual drawer that contains the widget-representatives. An independent claim is also included for a device for providing a user interface in a vehicle.
