<p>A cosmetic applicator brush with a core (34) and bristles (32) retained by the core (34) to form a brush head. The brush head has a cross section with first and second lobes (16, 18) separated by first and second feed grooves (12, 14). Each feed groove (12, 14) has first and second legs that terminate in a base portion, and each lobe (16, 18) has first and second application surfaces (20, 22, 24, 26) formed in part by legs of adjacent feed grooves (12, 14) and an arcuate peripheral application surface (28, 30) between and contiguous with the first and second application surfaces (20, 22, 24, 26). The application surfaces (20, 22, 24, 26) of the lobes (16, 18) can be arcuate, and the surfaces (20, 22, 24, 26) can cooperate to define a smooth bulbous surface. The lobes (16, 18) can have widths of approximately 65 percent of the effective diameter between central portions of the peripheral application surfaces (28, 30), and the feed grooves (12, 14) can be separated by a distance approximately 10.5 percent of the effective diameter of the brush head.</p> |
