A cutting machine and a shield component thereof are provided. The shield component (30) includes a shield body (46) for partly covering a saw blade (28) of the cutting machine; a supporting arm (62) connected with a workbench (22) of the cutting machine and supporting the shield body (46) above the workbench (22); a pivot arm (48) connected with the shield body (46) and rotated around a pivot relative to the supporting arm (62), thus making the shield body (46) to be located at a first working position close to the workbench and at a second working position away from the workbench; and a pressing plate component (32) set on the shield body (46). The pressing plate component (32) includes a workpiece pressing plate (79) for pressing against the workpiece vertically to the workbench (22). The workpiece pressing plate (79) has a pressing plate surface (79a). The pressing component (32) also includes a pressing plate adjusting mechanism for adjusting operably the workpiece pressing plate (79) to move between two positions relative to the workbench (22). Compared with the prior art, the invention can cut the different thickness workpieces in certain ranges without adjusting the whole shield component and is convenient to operate.
