<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measuring apparatus reducing power consumption due to positioning without depending on the area of a base station or the timing of a user's operation. <P>SOLUTION: The position measuring apparatus is equipped with: a positioning part for measuring a current position for every predetermined normal positioning period; a route search part for searching for a route on the basis of a destination, an estimated arrival time at the destination, and a current position, determining a travel route reaching the destination by one travel or more, and generating information on the travel route; and a positioning control part for controlling a measuring part in such a way as to reduce the measuring frequency of a current position until the user is determined as traveling on the basis of the distance between at least the newest current position and the starting position of travel contained in the information on the travel route during the period between the determination of the presence of waiting time based on both of the distance between the newest current position and the starting position of travel and the starting time of travel corresponding to the starting position of travel and contained in the information on the travel route and the starting time of travel corresponding to the starting position of travel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
