<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embed parallax information into a subtitle stream so as to coexist with subtitle information. <P>SOLUTION: In order to embed the parallax information into the subtitle stream, a "disparity data set segment" is newly defined as a DVB subtitle segment. By using the new segment, it is possible to embed the parallax information into the subtitle stream in coexistence with the subtitle information. On a receiving side, the parallax information can be suitably acquired from the subtitle stream on the basis of a "segment_type", which is identification information. Additionally, in the segment of a "page composition segment" including the subtitle information, 1-bit flag information indicated by a "disparity_data_association_flag" is newly defined. The flag information indicates the presence or absence of the parallax information associated with the page.
