PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce stress (frustration, fatigue, etc.) of a driver following a problematic preceding vehicle. SOLUTION: A route search device for searching a traveling route for a vehicle is provided. The route search device includes: a route search means for detecting the current position of one's own vehicle, searching a first scheduled route from the current position to a destination position and displaying it; a preceding vehicle detection means for detecting the speed and type of a preceding vehicle; and a route comparison means for, when the speed of the preceding vehicle is a predetermined ratio of the limited speed of a traveling road or less, or when the preceding vehicle is a predetermined specific vehicle, acquiring a second scheduled route of the preceding vehicle and comparing the second scheduled route and the first scheduled route. When the corresponding ratio of the first and second scheduled routes is less than a predetermined value, the route search means calculates at least one of the distance and time to a branching point of the two scheduled routes, and displays it. When the ratio is not less than the predetermined value, the route search means searches a third scheduled route different from the first vehicle of the own vehicle and displays it.
