<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing change in the observation value of output light before and after fusion splicing, when an obliquely cut optical fiber is aligned and fusion-spliced to an optical component. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber module includes an optical fiber, a glass rod and optical component. The optical fiber has an edge in which the direction of a normal is different from an optical axis by a predetermined angle. The glass rod has a first edge fused to the optical fiber and a second edge in which the optical axis is coincident with the direction of the normal. The optical component has a glass edge fused to the second edge of the glass rod. Also, the difference of refractive indexes between the glass rod and the glass edge of the optical component is within the predetermined range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
