PURPOSE:To lessen expenses relating to mooring through bettering propulsion capacity at a time of moving and oscillation capacity at a time of operation by forming pillar-shaped structures wider than lower hulls, and slenderly in the direction which meets at right angles with the longitudinal direction of lower hulls. CONSTITUTION:In a lower hull type semi-submerged style marine structure, the sectional shapes of pillar-shaped structures 2 connecting lower hulls 1 to an upper deck structure 3 are formed to be flat. Also, while the sectional areas of pillar-shaped structures are made to be larger by making the width of pillar- shaped structures 2 viewed from the front wider than that of lower hulls 1, the width viewed from the side is kept less wide. As the result, the frontal projected area of the portion below the surface of the water has increased remarkably compared with that of the prior lower hull type semi-submerged style marine structure and the side projected area has decreased. Accordingly, drift force by a wave and the variation of the strength of tidal current resistance by a wave and the direction of a tidal current becomes small.
