PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth money receiving operation by accurately discriminating the case that coin jam occurs in a carrying path from the case that coin storage at each kind is not normally performed. SOLUTION: Kinds of inputted coins are recognized, coins entering a coin storage 11 by each kind are recognized, and an elapsed time from the recognition of the denomination of coins to the recognition of the entrance of coins to the coin storage 11 is compared with a regulated time. When the elapsed time is longer than the regulated time, coin jam is determined, and the number of inputted coins at each kind is compared with the number of coins entering the coin storage 11 at each kind.
