PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method, which gives high fixing strength of a fixed image while eliminating pressure plasticity of a baroplastic toner. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes: a charging step; a latent image forming step; a developing step of developing an image with a developer to form a toner image, wherein the developer contains a toner comprising a baroplastic material having not more than 1.5 of a number average molecular weight ratio (high Tg resin/low Tg resin) of a high Tg resin having a photoreactive group to a low Tg resin, or a toner containing the baroplastic material and a photopolymerization initiator or a photopolymerizable compound; a recording medium processing step of supplying a composition containing a component of the photopolymerization initiator or the photopolymerizable compound, the component not included in the toner, to the surface of a recording medium; a transfer step of transferring the toner image to the surface of the recording medium surface where the composition is supplied; a temporary fixing step of temporarily fixing the toner image by pressurizing; and a UV irradiation step of curing the baroplastic material by irradiating the temporarily fixed toner image with UV rays.
