摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of correctly detecting a remaining amount of papers in the device, and an image forming device. SOLUTION: In the paper feeder, a remaining amount detection sensor 51 measures a distance H when the remaining amount of the paper is one sheet previously. When the papers are stored in a paper feeding unit 19, a motor displaces a lifting plate 61 to a paper feeding position. Further, the remaining amount detection sensor 51 measures a distance y1 to a lower surface of a bundle of sheets S. Thereafter, when the papers are conveyed from the bundle of sheets S, a control part allows the remaining amount detection sensor 51 to measure a distance y2 in every predetermined number of the feeding papers. A paper remaining amount calculation part calculates a displacement amount of the distance to the lower surface of the bundle of sheets S: y1-y2=Δy, and calculates thickness of one sheet (t=Δy/n) from the displacement amountΔy and the number n of the feeding papers.
