PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition from which films having excellent transparency, high strengths and high elastic moduli can more certainly be obtained, and to provide a film comprising the coating composition and having excellent transparency, high strength and high elastic modulus. SOLUTION: There is provided the coating composition wherein a small amount of nano diamond particles is dispersed in polyvinyl alcohol to obtain the coating composition from which films having excellent transparency, high strengths and high elastic moduli can more certainly be obtained.
