PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation imaging apparatus and a radiation imaging system which generate image data at a high compression rate by effectively carrying out reversible compression processing. SOLUTION: The radiation imaging apparatus comprises a sensor panel 40 on which a plurality of imaging elements 41 that generate charges in accordance with the dose of irradiated radiation are arranged two-dimensionally, a readout circuit 17 that reads out image data from each of the imaging elements 41, a control means 22 that carries out compression processing on the image data and generates compressed image data, and an antenna device 39 that transmits the compressed image data to a console 101. Before carrying out the compression processing, the control means 22 carries out a constant value processing to substitute a constant value for the pixel values of saturated pixels among the image data.
