FUEL CELL STACK AND SEPARATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell stack capable of restraining its drying-up.

SOLUTION: A cathode-side separator 42 for forming the polymer electrolyte fuel cell stack includes: a first gas passage (a first groove section 422cd1) for passing a cathode gas in a first direction along the surface of one membrane-electrode assembly; and a second gas passage (a second groove section 422cd2) for passing the cathode gas in a second direction opposite to the first direction along the surface of one membrane-electrode assembly. The first gas passage (the first groove section 422cd1) and the second gas passage (the second groove section 422cd2) are alternately arranged in a direction perpendicular to the first and second directions.
