PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device capable of reducing accuracy difference in detection of luminance caused by the difference in a distance between a sensor and each division region while suppressing increase in the number of photosensors and suppressing increase in the cost.

SOLUTION: A photosensor 3 is disposed in each sensing region 5 including a plurality of control regions 4 and sensing division regions 8, wherein the photosensor 3 is disposed so as to equalize the distance of the center of each sensing division region 8 from the photosensor 3 in each sensing region 5.
