<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus accurately tracking a subject within a screen regardless of an imaging condition. <P>SOLUTION: Precision in tracking that uses brightness information degrades when a gain is high to increase noise, when a frame rate is low to cause blurring, and when a camera shake is caused as in the case of long exposure time. In such conditions, instead of using brightness information the precision of which drops for tracking, color information is used for tracking. The imaging conditions at imaging such as gain, frame rate, and blurring amount are detected, and according to the detected imaging condition, switching is made between the tracking process using brightness information and that using color information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
