<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve excellent uniformity of display in a vertical alignment liquid crystal display element. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element includes: a pair of transparent substrates arranged facing each other with a predetermined interval; a plurality of first transparent electrodes formed at one opposite face side of the transparent substrate; a plurality of second transparent electrodes formed on the other opposite face side and extending to a cross direction of the first transparent electrode; mono-domain vertical alignment layers which are formed at opposite face sides of the transparent substrates, and at least to either of which mono-domain vertical alignment processing has been applied in parallel with a longitudinal direction of the first transparent electrode; a liquid crystal layer of a vertical alignment mode with a pretilt angle and sandwiched between the pair of substrates; and a pair of polarization plates arranged at both side of the pair of substrates. A pixel of hexagon shape is formed which includes a side forming an angle of within the range of 0°±10° or 90°±10° with respect to at least either of an absorption axes of the pair of polarization plates at each crossing portion of the first and second transparent electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
