<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for opening/closing a back door, which assists an operator's operation of opening/closing the back door, so that the back door can be operated to be opened/closed, without the need for a great physical operating force. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus for opening/closing the back door for a vehicle assists the operator's opening/closing operation, without electrically performing the whole operation of opening/closing the back door 1. When the operator operates the back door 1, the apparatus detects the amount of pull of a handle 4 for closing, and partially assists the physical operating force necessary for the closing operation by a motor, depending on the amount of pull.
